The newly appointed Kenya Film Commission Chairperson, Sudi Wandabusi, has promised to transform the performing arts industry to ensure artists reap from their hard work.
Speaking during the funeral of the late Xavier Jerry Busolo Nato, a renowned actor and scriptwriter, at Mukhuma Primary School in Bungoma county on Saturday, Sudi underscored the President’s directive to monetisate performing arts and ensure that the same reaches the deserving stakeholders.
“The President has one key expectation from me at the Kenya Film Commission — to ensure performing arts is monetised and that money actually gets to the deserving beneficiaries. This is a mandate I am fully committed to achieving with the support of all industry stakeholders,” he said.
Sudi expressed his gratitude to the President for recognising the critical role of the arts in shaping Kenya’s cultural and social fabric.
