The government is set to open a new office to register births and deaths in Tiaty Constituency, Baringo County.

According to Immigration Principal Secretary Julius Bitok, the new station is expected to increase the percentage of registered births among the pastoral residents in the county, many of whom have unregistered children.

“We know some residents have been covering nearly 300kms to travel to Kabarnet, and this has been at a huge time and financial cost. We want to bring this to an end so that we can have birth certificates obtained as soon as possible and at affordable costs,” said the PS on Friday, November 22.

The new office will be located at Chemolingot shopping center, providing relief to residents who have been traveling long distances to Kabarnet town for these services.
