Robert Gakinya emerged as the winner of the 10th leg of the Britam Golf Circuit Caravan at the 9-hole-Nyeri Club course.

He demonstrated consistency and dedication to the game, drawing inspiration from Arnold Palmer's famous quote, "With golf, the more you practice, the luckier you become."

A total field of 126 golfers took to the fairways seeking the top honours under clear blue skies before the skies opened up in the afternoon.

Gakinya, who was off the deck at 6:30 am, combined 19 and 20 stableford points to secure the win with 39 stableford points playing off handicap 18.

"I was the first to tee off at 6:30 am," Gakinya said. "The proverbial saying 'the early bird catches the worm' is true," he added.

"My intention today was to come out and have fun, which I did with encouragement from my teammates. I wish to thank Britam for sponsoring this very successful event,” he added.

The Men winner was Kanini Kega, with a score of 38 stableford points with a better countback score than the Men winner second, Khilan Shah, who also returned 38 stableford points.

The Lady winner was Jennifer Kariuki, upon posting a score of 35 stableford points to edge out Perister Gaitho, the Lady winner second with a sole point at 36 stableford.

In the guest category, James Mugambi emerged as the Guest winner after carding 37 stableford points.

After the Nyeri stop, the Britam Golf Circuit Caravan will head to Karen Club before the 2024 year-end at the evergreen Kericho Club.
