Motorist who hacked matatu driver in Eastleigh arrested

A motorist who allegedly hacked a matatu driver in Nairobi’s Eastleigh area on Wednesday night is being held by police as investigations begin.

The motorist was arrested after he sped off to California Police station as boda boda riders bade for his blood after the incident.

Police reports indicate that the 10pm incident happened along General Waruinge Street.

It is said that the motorist driving a Lexus fell in a disagreement with the matatu driver before he took a panga from his car and hacked the driver before speeding off.

Police were informed about the incident and when they arrived at the scene, they found a group of boda-boda riders chasing the motorist.

It took their intervention and managed to rescue the motorist from the angry riders who wanted to revenge.

The matatu driver police said sustained deep cuts on his left hand and left buttock and was rushed to the nearby hospital before being transferred to Kenyatta National Hospital.
