A businessman in Shauri Moyo, Nairobi, was arraigned in court for allegedly conspiring to kill a woman said to be his girlfriend.

Boniface Thayu Musyoka was charged with conspiring with Anthony Musyoka to allegedly kill Faith John (complainant) on diverse dates between February 4, 2024 and January 7, at Kiambiu slums within Kamukunji.

Boniface who appeared before Senior Principal Magistrate Joseph Karanja, is also facing an offense of inciting Anthony (whistle blower) to kill the complainant.

The complainant was reportedly approached by Anthony who is now a state witness.

Antony informed Faith that Boniface had hired him at a cost of Sh10,000 to look for a hit men to eliminate her.

The complaint who works as a pharmacist in Kiambiu was shocked by the revelations and decided to call her cousin.

Anthony told the duo that Boniface claimed that the complainant had taken part in robbery in which the victim lost valuables.

Anthony alleged that Boniface had pledged Sh40,000 out of which Sh20,000 was to be paid to the hit men and he was to take the rest.

The trio decided to report the matter to Kiambiu Police Post and were directed to the DCI in Shauri Moyo.

On February 8, 2025, the accused instructed Anthony to collect Sh30,000 to pay the hit men and that was when authorities were notified leading to his arrest. He was busted while in the process of making payment. The money has been kept as exhibit.

The accused, prayed for leniency saying he is a family man and was innocent.

State counsel, Allan Mogere, objected to the application saying the victim’s life could be in danger owing to the rising femicide cases in the country.

"In as much as bail and bond terms is a constitutional right, it is absolute that the nature of offense is serious. The accused shall be remanded in custody pending a pre-bail report which is to be tabled in court on February 18, this month," ruled Senior Principal Magistrate.
