Detectives investigate tragic fall of man

Police in Langata are investigating an incident where a man died on Thursday afternoon after falling from DTB plaza, along Mombasa road, Nairobi.

According to police, a security officer manning the building discovered the man lying motionless on the ground at 1.30pm.

The victim was later identified as an employee of Maersk Kenya Map Ref Company.

Police have launched investigations to establsih whether there was foul play.

Directorate of Criminal Investigation Lang’ata and the Crime Scene Investigation team visited the scene. The incident was recorded under OB No. 23/13/2/25 at 3:30 p.m.

“It is traumatising to see the disfigured body of someone you have been with a few minutes ago. We were just stepping out for lunch when we saw people looking up, only to find his body,” said a colleague.

No suicide note was found on the deceased.

“So far, there is no information on the cause of his death but we are piecing out information to unearth the cause of his death,” police said.

The deceased’s phone is now a key piece of evidence, as detectives attempt to trace his final communication.

“We will interrogate his supervisor and colleagues to understand whether he had raised any concerns at work, was facing personal struggles, or if any factors contributed to this tragic event,” he stated.

The body was removed to Montezuma Mortuary pending autopsy.
