Kenyan-born bank executive found dead in London

Police in the United Kingdom have launched an investigation into the death of a Kenyan-born woman in South East London. 

The body of 43-year-old Marianne Kilonzi was discovered at her residence on January 17.

According to the Metropolitan Police Service, officers were called to a flat on Argyll Road, SE18, at approximately 5:25 p.m. on Friday after concerns were raised regarding the occupant’s welfare.

Detective Chief Inspector Suzanne Soren of the Specialist Crime South unit said, “This is a deeply tragic incident, and our thoughts are with the victim’s family, who are being supported by specialist officers. At this early stage, we believe the suspect was known to the victim, and we are making urgent efforts to trace a named individual.”

A post-mortem conducted on January 18 confirmed that Kilonzi died from blunt force trauma and head injuries.

Prior to her death, Kilonzi was the Vice President of Trade and Working Capital Sales at Citibank. She held a degree in Computer Science from Kenyatta University.

Police have urged anyone with information that could assist in the investigation to contact them at 101, quoting CAD 5231/17Jan.
