Ruto leads nation in mourning Malava MP Malulu as leaders describe him as a selfless leader

President William Ruto has led the country in mourning, Malava Member of Parliament (MP) Malulu Injendi who passed away today at Aga Khan hospital in Nairobi County while undergoing treatment.

Through his official X account, Ruto termed Injendi as a selfless leader who served his people tirelessly.

"I am saddened by the death of a friend and colleague, Mheshimiwa Malulu Injendi. He was a towering leader who selflessly served the people of Malava Constituency," read the condolences message.

He added "The believer of equal opportunities, Mheshimiwa was diligent, focused and devoted to public service. He will best be remembered for his passion for education. Our prayers are with the family, friends and the people of Malava at this painful time."

This is after the National Assembly Speaker announced the passing of the lawmaker at 5:15 PM at Aga Khan Hospital.

Wetangula described Injendi as a dedicated leader whose contributions to Parliament and his constituents will be deeply missed.

“Hon. Injendi was serving his third term as a Member of the House, having been elected continuously since 2013. He was a passionate and committed representative who served his constituents with unwavering dedication and integrity,” Wetang’ula stated.

Through his official facebook account, Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa extended his heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and residents of Malava and Kakamega County.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, the people of Malava, and Kakamega County during this difficult time," said Governor Barasa.

Governor Barasa acknowledged the significant impact the late Injendi had in the region and praised his legacy of service to the people.

"His commitment to the people of Malava will be remembered, and his legacy will endure," he added.

The Governor has assured the residents of Kakamega County of support as they mourn this great loss. May his soul rest in peace.

Leader of the Majority and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah described him as a passionate and committed legislator, whose tireless advocacy transformed lives in Malava.

“It is with heartfelt sympathy that we mourn a colleague and friend,  Injendi. His dedication to serving Malava and his unwavering commitment to uplifting his constituents were an inspiration to all who had the privilege of working alongside him in Parliament,” Ichung’wah said.

Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa hailed Injendi as an exemplary leader known for his level-headedness, selflessness, and ability to articulate issues with clarity and conviction.

“My condolences extend to his family, friends, and the constituents of Malava. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” said Barasa.

Khwisero MP Christopher Aseka expressed his sadness, remembering Injendi as a respected colleague and friend.

“I am deeply saddened by the passing of my colleague and friend, Hon. Moses Malulu Injendi, Malava Constituency Member of Parliament,” he tweeted.

Trans Nzoia Senator Allan Chesang paid tribute to Injendi’s service and faith, acknowledging his life as one dedicated to the glory of God and the welfare of others.

“We give thanks for a life so well lived to God’s glory and in service to others. Give rest, O Christ, to thy servant with thy saints. May the Lord comfort his family, friends, and the people he served with such devotion," he said.

Likuyani MP Innocent Mugabe described Injendi as a selfless and visionary leader who devoted his life to uplifting Malava Constituency.

“Injendi embodied unwavering dedication and selflessness, devoting his life to uplifting Malava Constituency with humility and visionary purpose," he said.
