Former KTN news Anchor Njoroge Mwaura has died aged 74.

His wife Lucy Njoroge says he passed in the wee hours of Sunday morning, hours after undergoing a surgery at Karen Hospital in Nairobi.

 “You know we moved from Nairobi. We have been living in Naivasha but coming for medical checkups in Nairobi. So he was to undergo a surgery. After the surgery he did not respond well. He was taken back to ICU and he paased on Saturday night, that is very early Sunday,” Lucy has told The Standard.

Njoroge was a constant figure in Kenya’s media, who worked at KTN since its inception until his retirement.

He has inspired a whole generation of journalists and has worked alongside some of the most recognized names like the late Catherine Kasavuli, Beatrice Marshall and Zain Verjee.

He is survived by his wife Lucy and four children.
