Now that Riggy G is out of power, the powers that be are busy building his backyard

I drove through Karatina this week with the intent of espying the Wamunyoro diplomatic forays. For those who are not in the know, Wamunyoro is the name of political bastion of former Deputy Prezzo Rigathi Gachagua aka Riggy G, and where he has pitched tent to plot his alleged ouster of his former boss, Prezzo Bill Ruto.

And because Riggy G is a very honest man, he has revealed his legal and political strategy—to all who care to listen—that he will be running for the high office despite his impeachment. The latter comes with a 10-year ban, but Riggy G disclosed that since he appealed the impeachment, he is confident that he’d be allowed to run as long as the appeal mechanism is still in progress.

That’s very naïve of Riggy G, and even more naïve to think that anybody cares about the law. After all, if there was any respect for the law that he’s invoking, he’d still be DP. I don’t know who will advise that son of Munyoro to keep his mouth shut, or it could be that he, like others in this town, advise their advisors what to advise them.

The singular disclosure that I’d seek from Riggy G is rather public. I’m curious as to what happened to the road construction in the locality called Marwa, just after Karatina. While the longer road project is complete, the Marwa portion lay unfinished for the last 2.5 years.

The last I checked, the government claimed they would conduct an audit of the construction before proceeding to completion. And now that Riggy G is out of power, the road construction has resumed, which implies he was the obstacle to development in his home town.

That doesn’t make sense at all, especially since he was cast as a village bumpkin who cared about nothing but his village. That’s the level of madharau extended to our urbane, former DP, and who makes a home in Karen.

And the same folks are busy insulting our intelligence by moving full-steam to complete the project, one would think it’s leading to Riggy G’s home, after leaving motorists to suffer for years. Bure kabisa.
