Meru elders ask Muturi to reconcile with Ruto

A section of Meru elders (Njuri Ncheke) have called on Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi, urging him to solve his issues with the executive arm of the government away from the public.

This comes days after the former Attorney General criticized President William Ruto’s regime, alleging that the government was responsible for the increased abduction of youth in various parts of the country.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, the elders criticized Muturi for doublespeak, saying he should stop the mischief.

“You cannot demolish a house you live in. Go back to the boss, go back to his deputy Kithure Kindiki who is your brother and talk. If there’s a problem, you solve it because you are one of the few who can reach the president,”

“You said you once talked to him please go back and talk to him. Stop this mischief and go back to work. As a community we want to be in government,”

Barely a week ago, Muturi called for establishment of a commission of inquiry to probe alleged enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings in the country.

In his opinion, he said the commission should be multi-sectoral.

“We cannot take it as business as usual. We must address this matter to its finality with a view to getting to the root cause of it,” Muturi told the press at City Mortuary where he had joined the families of the two Mlolongo victims.
