The Leader of Majority at the Kericho County Assembly Philip Ronoh has said the house will take disciplinary action against 16 members who abstained from the debate to impeach Governor Erick Mutai.

He said he would initiate the process of having them removed from various departmental committees.

“As the Leader of the Majority party, I will seek the removal of the members from the committees because they betrayed the people they represent,” Ronoh said. UDA is the majority party.

The said MCAs are Mathew Korir (Chaik ward), Simon Koskei (Kunyak ward), Paul Chirchir alias Tarimbo (Kapsoit ward), Kipng’eno Kirui alias Broker (Tebesonik ward), Anita Mibey (Chemosot ward), Dominic Mutai (Kabianga ward), Vincent Kirui (Litein ward), Hillary Bosuben (Cheplanget ward) and some nominated MCAs.

Kapsoit MCA Paul Chirchir, also known as Tarimbo, defended the governor, stating that there was no evidence to support claims of unnatural sexual behaviour against him.
