Five feared dead as police, residents clash over alleged land grabbing

Five people are feared dead and scores injured following clashes between police and residents protesting the alleged grabbing of over 10,000 acres of land in Angata-Barrikoi, Trans Mara sub-county, Narok County.

Narok Police Commander Ruku Ngare said that he was still gathering information about the incident from his officers in Trans Mara.

Sources told the Standard Digital that the protestors were demonstrating against the alleged illegal acquisition of the land by a senior government official.

The protestors claim that they have lived on the land since independence and would not surrender it to an individual.
