KCB parts ways with head coach Curtis Olago after 13 years

KCB Rugby has confirmed the departure of their head coach, Curtis Olago, following the expiry of his contract on August 31.

This marks the end of an illustrious 13-year tenure that began in 2011, during which Olago led the KCB Lions to unprecedented success.

Under Olago's leadership, the KCB Lions secured the Kenya Cup title five times, cementing their dominance in Kenyan rugby.

His strategic acumen also saw the team clinch two National Sevens Circuit titles, five Great Rift 10s titles, three Enterprise Cups, and numerous floodlit rugby titles.

Beyond club achievements, Olago's influence extended to the national level, where he served as the assistant coach for the Kenya Fifteens side.

Olago's legacy at KCB Lions is one of remarkable achievement and dominance. His tenure was highlighted by an unbeaten record in the National Sevens Circuit for two consecutive years, leading the team to victories in 2014 and 2015.

His strategic prowess also brought home the Great Rift 10s title five times and the Enterprise Cup thrice, showcasing his ability to excel in various rugby formats.

As KCB bids farewell to Olago, the club acknowledges the indelible mark he has left on both the team and the broader rugby landscape in Kenya. His departure signals the end of a golden chapter filled with triumphs and an enduring impact on the sport.
