Kabianga and Jomo Kenyatta stopped top guns in rugby Sevens to qualify for the Rift Valley Schools Term Two Games set for Bomet next week.
The regional games will be held from July 16-20. Almost all counties have completed their games and are focusing on the regional championships.
As Kabianga prepare to travel to Bomet, they dismissed Kabartegan 27-8 in the final as Jomo Kenyatta stopped former regional champions Menengai with a sudden death penalty in Kericho and Nakuru County games respectively.
Terry Kelphas of Kabianga was voted the Most Valuable Player.
“We’ll take the same passion to the regional championships as our focus is to qualify for the East African Games,” said Kelphas.
Jomo Kenyatta and Menengai had tied 7-7 at extra-time.
It was a rude shock for Menengai who were confident of making it to the regional championships.
Jomo Kenyatta also won the boys’ football title after seeing off Kirobon 1-0 as Trinity beat St Andrew Tarambeta of Gilgil 4-0 to scoop the girls’ football title.
Koelel Forces Academy emerged as play-offs winners from a 27-0 thrashing of Moi Secondary.
In the girls’ rugby sevens, JM Kariuki won the title with a 17-5 win over Nakuru Day after the former had thrashed Mirera 34-0 in the semifinals as the latter dispatched Njoro Day 12-5.
