Ameet Shah emerged as the February Mug of the Month champion after outclassing a field of over 50 golfers at the scenic Nyanza Golf Club, located along the shores of Lake Victoria in Kisumu, over the weekend.
Shah delivered a stellar performance, carding 66 points to claim the overall title in a tournament that honoured club members born in February.
Reflecting on his victory, Shah credited his success to playing alongside seasoned golfers, including professional David Odhiambo, whose expertise and approach to the game served as a great source of inspiration.
“Playing with experienced golfers like Pro David Odhiambo was a big motivation for me. Observing how he approaches each shot, his composure under pressure, and his overall game strategy really helped me elevate my performance. The course was in great shape, and my short game was particularly strong, which played a big role in securing this win,” said Shah.
The tournament, which was backed by February-born golfers, including Christine Riaroh, Eddy Anayo, Belice Rabach, Dave Arunga, Wickliffe Omondi, Norah Wakiaga, Samwel Misiani, Tito Arunga, Andrew Mutua, and Hon. Ruth Odinga, attracted a competitive lineup across different divisions.
