Nairobi County to waive medical fees for Embakasi fire victims

The County Government of Nairobi has promised to waive all medical fees at health facilities for victims of the Thursday night Embakasi incident.

In a statement issued on Friday, February 2, Governor Johnson Sakaja condoled with the bereaved family and victims committing to give necessary aid.

"We pray for the quick recovery of those who were injured and may the Almighty rest in peace the souls of those who lost their lives in this unfortunate incident," Sakaja stated.

"The County Government has also waived all medical fees at the county facilities attending to the injured and bereaved."

He added that the county has deployed all emergency response teams to the site to support the victims.

The county health workers, together with the disaster and risk management teams are working ways to manage the situation at the scene.

Additionally, the county has mobilised relief items in conjunction with other agencies to ensure the comfort of all those affected.
