The Pharmacy and Poisons Board has warned against using the cancer drug Flurasted 500 from Batch Number HHP24017, citing safety concerns.
In a statement posted on X on Thursday, the Board urged the public to cease using the drug immediately and to report any related issues.
“All pharmaceutical outlets, healthcare facilities, healthcare professionals, and members of the public are directed to quarantine the affected batch immediately and halt its distribution, sale, issuance, or use,” the statement read.
The Board’s CEO, Fred Siyoi, explained that a market complaint regarding the appearance of the drug prompted the action.
