AAR Hospital expands pediatric and specialised services to cater for rising demand

AAR Hospital has unveiled a new pediatric wing and specialised clinics as part of a strategic expansion to meet the growing demand for affordable, high-quality healthcare in the Nairobi metropolitan region.

The level-five hospital, located in the upscale Muthaiga North estate, is targeting middle-income families with competitive pricing and flexible insurance options, while also appealing to higher-income individuals seeking comprehensive care. 

The hospital’s latest investments include state-of-the-art surgical theatres and 11 specialised pediatric clinics offering services such as dermatology, nephrology, gastroenterology, neonatology, and cardiology.

These clinics aim to address a rise in childhood diseases, congenital disorders, and developmental delays, emphasizing early diagnosis and intervention to improve long-term health outcomes. 

"The focus is on offering high-quality care that also attracts higher-income individuals. We aim to serve diverse demographics," said Dr Aysha Edwards, CEO of AAR Hospital in a statement adding, "Our investments reflect a strategic response to patient needs, ensuring we provide specialized care for all demographics while adapting to evolving demands." 

AAR Hospital serves a wide catchment area, including Nairobi, Kiambu, Kajiado, and Machakos counties, with suburbs such as Rongai, Kitengela, Athi River, Ngong, Syokimau, and Katani benefiting from its expanded services.

The hospital’s new pediatric clinics, launched in January, offer a range of services from routine check-ups and vaccinations to advanced screenings, catering to children of all ages. 

To make healthcare more accessible, AAR Hospital says it has introduced flexible payment options, including maternity instalment packages and bundled pricing for common surgical procedures.

These packages, which cover pre-and post-surgery care, are designed to appeal to middle-income families and are favored by insurance providers. 

"We offer reasonable pricing for advanced care, ensuring accessibility for a broader range of patients compared to hospitals that focus primarily on high-end, expensive treatments," Dr Edwards explained. "This attracts patients seeking quality care without the premium costs that some competitors might charge for specialized treatments." 

In addition to pediatric care, AAR Hospital provides affordable treatment for chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma, targeting patients who require ongoing care but are concerned about long-term costs.
