Masengeli urges Kenyans to care for the less fortunate in society

The deputy Inspector General of Police Gilbert Masengeli has urged Kenyans to be hopeful of a better New Year for the country.

At the same time Masengeli asked Kenyans to share with the less fortunate and underprivileged in society during the festive season.

The deputy IG was speaking during a visit to the Precious Kids Centre in Kitale, a home for children living with disabilities, where he donated assorted foodstuff and items including maize and diapers.

The police boss said the festive season is a moment for him to thank God and interact with his community.

“I wish everyone God’s blessing as we forge forward for a better Kenya because we need each other even as we cross the New Year,” he said.

The deputy IG who was accompanied by county security officials and his family asked Kenyans to use the festive season to reflect on God’s blessings.

Masengeli said the visit to the children’s home was part of his initiatives to give back to society and celebrate with the less fortunate.

“We are here with my wife Mrs Masengeli to just give back to the community and appreciate this facility for taking care of these children because in the end we all belong to God,” he said.

Precious Kids Centre hosts 120 children with disabilities, most of them are victims of neglect by families.
