Two suspected gangsters killed, their vehicle torched in Homa Bay

Two men have been lynched while two others were seriously injured over an alleged attempt to steal cattle in Homa Bay.
The two men who have not been identified were killed at Katolo Village, Miriu Sub-location in Rachuonyo East Sub-county on Friday evening.
The four men were accused of stealing cattle, which has become rampant in the area in the recent past.
Residents have been complaining that groups of unknown people steal cattle in the area by carrying them with vehicles and disappearing with them during the day.
On Friday evening, residents spotted the four men who had parked their car in the village.

“A group of residents interrogated them, but they did not have clear answers. They decided to run away when they were put to task to explain their mission, meaning they had ill intentions,” said Joseph Omollo, a resident.
Their decision to flee made residents run after them and get hold of them.
The two who were caught first were assaulted to death, and their bodies burnt on the spot.
Two others were later caught and injured seriously. Police rescued them and took them to Rachuonyo South Sub-county hospital.
Meanwhile, the mob burned the suspects’ car.
The bodies were moved to the Rachuonyo South Sub-county hospital mortuary.
