Tied to a tree: Missing Homa Bay man found murdered in gruesome attack

A 27-year-old man has been murdered under unclear circumstances by unknown individuals in Homa Bay County.
The body of the man, identified as Jeckoniah Otila, was found tied to a tree in a bush at Aora Olemo village, Lwala Sub-location in Suba South Sub-county on Tuesday.
Otila’s body was discovered by a resident who was walking in the area. He was half-naked.
The body was positioned in a sitting posture, with his hands tied behind his back to the trunk of the tree.
Suba South Sub-county Police Commander Caxton Ndunda said Otila had visible injuries on various parts of his body, indicating he was assaulted with blunt objects before being killed.

“The body had serious injuries. He might have been killed before his body was tied to the tree,” Ndunda said.
He noted that the individuals responsible for the murder had not yet been identified.
The police boss said investigations into the murder had been launched.
“We are conducting investigations so that we can take punitive legal action against the individuals who committed the heinous act,” Ndunda said.
