Menengai Oilers will be eager to maintain their blistering start to the 2024-2025 Kenya Cup season as they face Strathmore Leos at Strathmore University grounds today.
The Oilers opened their campaign with a commanding 76-13 victory over Kisumu RFC, sending a clear message of intent as they aim for playoff qualification.
Head coach Gibson Weru praised his team’s performance but emphasised the need for consistency.
"The win was crucial, earning us five points, but there’s still plenty of room for improvement as we prepare for the next match," said Weru.
Reflecting on their opener, Weru highlighted the team’s strengths in set pieces and attack shape, which delivered several open-play tries. However, he acknowledged the challenges of finding rhythm in the first half.
