Kenya set to take part in three international polo assignments in 2025

Kenya Polo Association (KPA) has released its 2025 calendar of events which includes the national team taking part in three international matches this year.
The first international assignment will see Kenya send a team to Zimbabwe for a six-goal- international tournament from June 13-15 at a venue to be named later.
Later on August 22-24, Zambia is set to tour Kenya for a 10-goal match to be played at Manyatta Polo Club in Gilgil.
In the third international assignment at Nairobi Polo Club in September, Kenya will play a composite team of international players from different nationalities. The assignments will involve only men teams.

KPA president Pete Griffiths said they are yet to establish and determine the players’ nationalities since they are still consulting on those coming for the international assignment.
“We are yet to know on the nationalities of these international players to make the composite team that should face Kenya at Nairobi Polo Club in September,” Griffith told Standard Sports.
At the same time, Griffith said they are still consulting with Zimbabwe Polo Federation to come up with the venue that will host the match in any of the cities in the Southern African country.
In the meantime, the season opens with two consecutive tournaments in Timau and the first one is at Timau Sports Club on May 23-25 and the second at Northern Kenya Polo Club from May 30 to June 1.
Manyatta Polo Club will host the third tournament on June 20-22 ahead of the Bwana Begg and Cavalry Cups on June 27-29 at the same venue.
Nairobi Polo Club takes charge of the fifth tournament on July 18-20 ahead of the Connaught Cup on July 25-27 at the same venue that will open doors for the Mugs of Mugs Cup at Manyatta Polo Club on August 15-17 ahead of the international match against Zambia at the same venue the following week.
A six and a 10-goal tournaments will be hosted at Nairobi Polo Club on September 12-14 and September 19-21 and on October 10-12 and October 17-19, two events will be hosted at venues yet to be decided.
On December 5-7 is the Moi Cup at Manyatta Polo Club and the Christmas Championships on December 12-14 at the same venue wraps up the season.
