Raila:Senior police officers planning on ensuring low voter turnout in our strongholds

NASA coalition has planned a rally dabbed Saba Saba at Uhuru Park on July 7 for peaceful elections and will largely involve the youth who have been asked to be in all white during the day’s proceeds.

The coalition’s presidential candidate Raila Odinga has said the coalition is seeking to ensure Kenyans were peaceful throughout the electioneering period since the devoid of peace during campaigns would deny many a chance to vote.

Raila claimed that there were plans by security organs to intimidate voters in areas that have been labelled 'hot-spots' as a result of likelihood to have volatile political outcomes.

“I don’t just say things. They are trying to use police in intimidating voters, scaring them not to turn out and vote in the name of securing volatile areas,” said Mr Odinga.

Mr Odinga during an interview said he was aware that there was a meeting held at Embakasi barracks where senior police officers and county coordinators planned how they would scare voters by deploying many police officers when the voting day nears.

Security organs had earlier denied this claims from leaders in the NASA coalition.
