Standard Group Journalist Kamau Muthoni elected CRAK Chief Whip

Kamau Muthoni, a journalist with the Standard Group, has been elected Chief Whip of the Court Reporters Association of Kenya (CRAK).
The elections, held on Saturday, August 31, resulted in a significant leadership shake-up, introducing several new faces into the association's top positions.
In his address, Muthoni expressed gratitude and shared his vision for the future, stating: "I am grateful that we have a starting point. I hope that we will become a benchmark of integrity, unity, and success in the industry."
He will serve alongside Susan Muhindi of The Star, elected Chairperson, with Dzuya Walter of Citizen TV and Carolyne Kubwa of People Daily as Vice-Chairpersons.
Other newly elected leaders include Sam Kiplagat of the Daily Nation as Secretary General and Rodgers Oduor of Ghetto Radio as Vice-Treasurer.

The election was overseen by the association's patron, Supreme Court Judge Justice Isaac Lenaola, who pledged to support the association by working closely with the Judiciary to ensure its members are well-equipped with the necessary knowledge.
“A lot of complaints have been made by judges and magistrates. We can now at least have a one-on-one relationship. We shall do a lot together. I'm available to guide the association for as long as I can," he stated.
